Kym is a Senior Trial Manager at Swansea Trials Unit and has worked in clinical research since 1999, starting in haematology laboratory research and progressing to health services research where she began her trial management role. She has extensive experience of managing drug trials, surgical trials and other interventional trials in both the academic and commercial setting investigating patients in the NHS and in UK prisons, and healthy volunteers. She has experience of managing trials and cohort studies in type 1 diabetes, trauma and emergency care, inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, problematic sexual arousal, COVID-19, psychological interventions for traumatic brain injuries and dermatology.
