Josh has led the Early Drug Development trials team at Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials Unit (CRCTU) at the University of Birmingham since 2018 and focuses on the development and delivery of early phase trials primarily in brain, lung and colorectal cancer. This includes the National Lung Matrix Trial, one of the largest precision medicine trials in non-small cell lung cancer, and the Tessa Jowell BRAIN MATRIX study, an ambitious collaborative platform to provide glioblastoma patients with a fully integrated diagnosis of their disease combining genomic, pathological, imaging and clinical datasets, with a hope of providing better access to clinical trials and novel targeted therapies. Prior to this, Josh worked in the late phase solid tumour team and children’s cancer trials team also at CRCTU, and is experienced in the delivery of international trials. Josh is the co-lead of the Preparation and Set-up for a Clinical Trial module in MSc Clinical Trials at the University of Birmingham and sits on the steering group of MRC-NIHR TMRP Stratified Medicine Working Group.
