Now in its 5th year, we are delighted to open nominations for the Trial Manager of the Year Award 2024!

The UKTMN has always been passionate about recognising the vital input a trial manager provides to the success of a trial, and we continue to endeavour to make sure all those involved in trials in the UK recognise this too.

We are pleased to share that the UKTMN Trial Manager of the Year Award is sponsored by the NIHR Academy, who are kindly awarding up to £1,000 for the winner(s) to use for a professional development activity of their choice (e.g. training course).

The Trial Manager of the Year initiative is intended to increase awareness and recognition of the pivotal role trial management professionals play in the clinical trial community. It enables peers and colleagues to formally recognise the hard work and dedication of a trial management professional and provides a platform to celebrate success.   Nominating a trial management professional for this award is easy – just complete this short nomination form.

You can nominate anyone in a trial management role who you think deserves this award, regardless of job title or level of experience.   We'd like to know about the working relationship you have with the person you are nominating, and why you feel they deserve this award.

There is also space for you to list colleagues who wish to support the nomination. This is not mandatory but can help the reviewers understand the impact of your nomination.  It is best to submit one nomination for someone, with supporting colleagues listed than submit more than one nomination.

All nominations will be reviewed independently by members of the UKTMN Executive Group, who will meet to discuss nominations if required. The review panel will be looking for EVIDENCE of the following skills and examples of good practice, so please consider this when completing your nomination:

  • Project management skills
  • Innovation
  • Working with participants, patients and members of the public
  • Management, communication and leadership
  • What impact the nominee has had in their trial management role
